Challenges emanate from the rare visual disability known as Keratoconus; The main feature of keratoconus is the intertwining of lines and the lack of clear boundaries between objects. I decided to turn this visual impairment, instead of succumbing to its limitations, into an opportunity to create my unique style in painting. Although focusing and rendering on canvas requires special attention and concentration, overcoming the chaos caused by the constant presence of a foreign object in my eye demands even more effort and practice from me.

This visual impairment has persistently posed the most significant and profound challenge in my life. Unfortunately, no remedy is available beyond using cumbersome, glass-like lenses. Its profound ramifications have significantly influenced my life choices, extending to pivotal decisions like motherhood, educational pursuits, and more, leading to stress and apprehensions that, as a woman, I encounter in society, rendering me more susceptible to self-protection.

In my artistic concept, I explore execution and design, crafting a space that is optimistic and positive. This entails an allegorical representation of daily activities reimagined in novel and diverse forms inspired by the perceptual changes after removing my contact lenses every night. The visual compositions combine cinematic elements with a touch of humour to depict these negative emotions in a vibrant, lively, and colourful context, thus creating a space that feels both familiar and surreal.
