About Samira

Painting has been and Samira’s primary activity since her early childhood. She born with a rare irregularities and wrinkles on her eye’s cornea, that makes her vision blur and fuzzy without the aid of particular lenses. This indeed helped Samira to develop a style and composition, where there is no particular border and definition for the objects. This creates a dynamic and fluidity in her paintings and helps to depict movement and time if needed. Creating setups of surreal layers and frames of ordinary spaces and elements is of particular interest for her. The idea is to introduce a real event, activity or feelings from an unconventional point of view and angle, where the position and order of object and spaces are distorted to projects a magical vision of something very familiar. The style falls on a combination of abstract and surrealism where a magical reality forms on a blank canvas. Academic background in Stage Design for Theatre resulted in better understanding of space, elements of drama and emotions.
